Lost
A mixed feeling of closure and withdrawal lingers through a gray Monday morning as some of us attempt to recover from last night's epic finale of Lost. Looking back at this series of illustrations by Michael Myers already gives me some sense of nostalgia.

I Met The Walrus
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it, using the original interview recording as the soundtrack. Illusion of Daylight
Artist Daniel Rybakken creates the illusion of daylight by replicating the sensation of sunlight cast within architectural settings where natural light is non-existent. Instead of casting light shadows, he uses backlit LEDs within walls in a very convincing way.

How long have I been missing out? PassiveAggressiveNotes.com collects "Painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over." Beautiful. There's a book too, which came out 2 years ago. Never too late to catch up.

500 FPS
Transferred to HD nearly 40 years later, this 8 minute clip of the Apollo 11 launch on July 16, 1969 represents 30 seconds of actual time. We've seen it before, but seeing it again in such detail with a very thorough voice-over of what's actually happening with the gaseous propulsion — it's still amazing.
