Blunt Force Trauma

We mourned and cheered (well, cheered really) when our interactive project director, Shannon, was carried to the morgue tarp on last Sunday's Thanksgiving episode of NBC's Trauma. This marks Shannon's national television debut. And though he debuts with a death scene, this may signal the birth of his double-life on television.

Martian Landscapes

Some new images of Mars, taken from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, have been posted on Boston.com's "The Big Picture." The high resolution imagery is stunningly sharp and crisp, rendering realistic details of Mars' cold ethereal landscape. It's hard not to be in awe.

Long Duration Exposure Facility

NASA's Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) was shot into space in 25 years ago to float above our atmosphere and gather data about all the stuff it bumps into. The surface panels, which conduct these particulate experiments are beautiful compositions – as are most things created by NASA, where function always trumps form.

It was only a matter of time before youtube would become the perfect vehicle for modern day détournement. For sometime now, Finnish based Santeri Ojala, aka StSanders, has been prolifically overdubbing hilariously crummy solos onto guitar hero concert footage and videos. His latest "Passing Stones" had me crying laughing.

See Through - All My Things

See Through is a series of twelve photographs in which Swiss artist Helga Steppan audited all of her personal belongings and divided them into a full spectrum of color groupings.

Flame (Gate)

Israeli born street artist Yochai Matos, who lives and works in Tel Aviv, creates beautiful installations out of flourescent lights. He also works with glitter and glue. (via ignant)

Kuntz Manor

Tom Kuntz, the director behind the short film The Battle for Milkquarious, the greatest Rock Opera ever made - about milk, has also created quite a portfolio of commercial work. All with a bizarre and unique sense of humor. The spots for Skittles are quite good.
