Van Halen Asteroids
This has to be by far one of the better Flash apps I've discovered online. What do you get when you cross David Lee Roth with the stratospherically famous 80s game Asteroids? Well, look no further.

Nikolay Saveliev
Recent RISD graduate Nikolay Saveliev, who's site I found by way of Jesse Kanda, features some really nice projects. My favorite is RISD Yearbook 2007.

Indexed!
I met a guy at a bar last night who told me how much he loved this blog. He was very adamant in his love for it so I decided to check it out this morning. I must admit I wasn't quite as enamored but I did enjoy its simplicity and commitment to almost daily entries.

P.S. The bar is worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Tribeca - great music, wine list and some interesting people.

Catching the Man The The Gray Suit
What do you do when you're a bored sport fisherman, living near shark-infested beaches? Well, you catch 'em! Here's a preview of a film about those guys and their diminished good sense.

By the way, this entry comes by way of Jamie Calderon who seems to have a fear of posting to the blog.

Are Ya Geeked Up?
"Dancers are you fired up – geeked up? Yes indeed. Sharevari, that's a real geeked up song. You'll be hearin' lot's more of that one. Continue the groove as the groove continues. Up to 7 o'clock we rawk non stop!"

Who wouldn't want to strut down the line to Sharevari on The Scene back in 1982 in the Motor City?

Flip Book Style
I am glad to see that the art of music videos is not dead. They just are not on TV. Enjoy this from Kraak & Smaak.

History of the Internet
Have you ever wondered where our modern day internet came from? This is a great video explaining the origins of the tool that most of us would have a hard time doing without in 2009.

Blind Dining
Imagine entering a restaurant that is completely pitch black with a blind wait staff at your service. Soon your sense of sound, taste, smell and touch are intensely heightened.

Originating in Switzerland, this blind eating trend has swept Europe. I first tried one of these "blind dining" experiences in Berlin last year thinking I'd never be able to experience such a thing in the US. But sure enough, the dining concept has arrived.

Opaque, the first "dark dining" establishment in San Francisco, apparently offers the same experience sans the blind wait staff normally employed in Europe. Instead, a wait staff utilizing night vision is at your service. Bon appétit!

Sonic Type
Here's a typeface that you can actually listen to. Designed by artist/musician Edgar Walthert, SonicWaves is the first sonic typeface based on sound waves. Although the waveforms don't actually yield the phonetic sound of each letter, it does offer some interesting sound patterns. Check out what "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" sounds like!
