&totalWhat's better—watching a group of 1965 barfooted skateboarders with their single-striped windbreakers hanging 10 on their clay-wheeled pinner boards, or the Schwinn with the banana seat and the gorilla bars? Both! Watch and learn from where the asphalt board sport was born.

Plane Loco
Travis Pastrana lives his life on the edge. Recently, he jumped over it.
On Wednesday, September 26, Pastrana hopped a flight from his home in Davidsonville, MD, to Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to perform a stunt he's been dreaming up for more than a year. The next morning, four members of his group skydived from a single-engine Cessna from 12,500 feet. Pastrana performed his jump wearing only sunglasses, socks and surf trunks while holding a can of Red Bull.
He was not wearing a parachute. Something I know I haven't dreamed about, but an amazing stunt.

Bathroom Break
In an ingenious move, Snowtone design in Tokyo Japan, has given us a new wastebaket for our bathrooms.
The top of the can has been cut to hold your publication open to the last page you read, while also acting nicely as a cover.

Celebration of an Icon
"Who would say that pleasure is not useful?" -Charles Eames
To help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Charles Eames’ birth, his iconic LCW chairs are now available in richly grained birch veneer, like the original. A series of new colors refreshes the palette and recalls the times when the chairs were introduced.
The chairs are offered in a wood or chrome-plated steel base in your choice of birch veneer in eight new finish options (red, green, orange, purple, black, light blue, white, and yellow); these stains allow the wood's natural characteristics to show through.
Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."

Storm Clouds
"Storm Clouds" , a solo exhibit of new works by Jeff Soto and the artist's second major show recently opened at Jonathan LeVine Gallery. Storm Clouds features over thirty new works on wood panel and paper, as well as large-scale installations that will focus on the theme of politics, fear, and fatherhood. Storm Clouds is Jeff Soto’s most politically charged exhibition to date.
For Storm Clouds, Jeff Soto explores his predominant fears and anxieties over his daughter’s future, the civil war in Iraq, and the United States policies on environmental conservation. Soto’s concern for the American population’s indifference and a general disconnection to global affairs are motivating factors behind his overtly mature subject matter. Storm Clouds is ripe with metaphors that allude to the fate of the planet should neglect and indifference prevail. Soto’s expressive narratives evoke inherent contradictions, crossing between notions of a precarious and fragile natural world on the brink of extinction with one that is an indestructible, organic mass.

Enlightened Signage
Matt Siber art project titled "Floating Logos" focuses on the peculiar practice of erecting monumental logos atop large poles and stanchions in honor of brand recognition. Of course, in these images said poles have been digitally removed - making for some quite interesting images.
