Eno Henze
This artist, Eno Henze, creates beautifully intricate oversized prints. From what I gather, his pieces seem to use some sort of mathematical plotting device to generate these beautifully fluid abstractions. Very nice stuff.

Nothin' LIke a Dramatic Look
Sample responses from watching this video are:

"I can't stop watching this, I think I am going to cry,

I don't know what else to do," "The best 5 seconds

of my life," "This made me spill pop on myself,"

and "I nominate this video as our next president."

You decide.

Ubiquitous Computing
Multitouch surface computing is a mind-blowing new way of using intuitive human interactions to interface with technology. Microsoft's Hands-on computing device, in the form of a coffee table, allows users to engage with their digital lifestyle using only their fingertips.

Check out the video.

A Galaxy-A-Day
Nasa's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is a great place to check out photos of the universe - or at least as far as our telescopic cameras can reach into the (known) universe.

Spectacularly scientific and visually stunning, my faves are the nebulae.

Beyond Origami
Richard Sweeney works with paper to create stunning sculpture. Using repetition of simple natural forms, he creates complex structures that mimic the architecture he calls his influence.

“This demonstration of art through engineered structure is truly inspiring, and is a major influence on the way I go about producing my work- to create objects that are simple to construct yet complex in appearance, and are efficient in the way they are produced, both in terms of construction time and material use.”

Single File Line Please
Stroom Den Haag is an active center for visual arts and architecture. Stroom has an active policy for artists from The Hague and also initiates a large number of (international) activities in the fields of visual arts, art in public space, architecture and design, in the broadest sense of the word.

For elementary school De Paradijsvogel, the duo of KapteinRoodnat (Marleen Kaptein and Stijn Roodnat) made an art work consisting of several hundred meters of bright green tubes, which occupy the schoolyard and the assembly hall. The single line creates both play structures and site furniture.

Move Over Clapper
Jack Godfrey Wood has just finished his second year of an MA in Industrial Design at Central St. Martins, London.

One of his projects, The ‘House-off’ Switch is a switch that allows a user to turn off all non-essential electronic items in their home from a central switch. Push the button to turn your house on when you get home; push it again to turn it off when you leave. Aiming to make the ‘green’ way the most convenient way, the ‘House-off’ Switch was part of a larger project to encourage 'green' action among the environmentally disenfranchised.

Surreal Desert Journey
This is an oddly beautiful music video for a song called "Knife" by Grizzly Bear. Created by San Francisco's talented production group know as Encyclopedia Pictura. The level of production detail is quite amazing and the slow development adds to the ethereal surrealism that takes you to a very strange place. Check out the production stills to see how the whole thing came together.

Also worth seeing are Grow and Seventeen Evergreen.

Good Hair Day
I love hair. One of my favorite things to do before a movie begins is to check out people's hair in front of me. So when Stocker's portfolio site found its way into my emailbox, I had a great time exploring the images of both hair and hair-like textures.

Tactical Advantage
An eerie short film by Mangello Tipperary. Not much to describe here, just watch. The video takes a bit to load, so be patient.

Couldn't find any additional info on the film maker. Displays an obvious skill in art directing and shooting. No pun intended.

High on Air
Vancouver artist Brian Jungen's art is made almost exclusively from found art objects - cafeteria trays, baseball bats, plastic lawn chairs, and here Nike Air Jordans.

His work often evokes his Dane-zaa culture, with masks such as the one above made from Air Jordans. Be sure to check out his lawn chair skeletons.
